Rebecca Lau has, inspite of her young age, achieved quite a lot. After several years at design schools she now lives and works in an old chocolate factory on Manhattan’s SoHo-Chinatown border. Simply a perfect place to design dazzlingly bold jewelry. She describes her work as ”very sculpturaland geometric”; recent creations are based on deconstructed concentric circles. And she lives as she teaches; Lau loves a bit of gleam in her wardrobe, as well as on her worktable. One of her current can’t-live-without-tips is to combine your business dress with something shiny - why not a metallic vintage belt that shimmers like snakeskin, ’cause if there’s one thing you won’t do in Rebecca’s jewelry, is to look dull.
